Fonterra Mik Supply is the interface with Fonterra's supplier shareholders. Included in the team are Farm Liaison Officers who provide direct shareholder support and assist with on-farm issues, a Contact Centre that provides seven day a week response to shareholder enquiries and Fencepost.com, a rural information website that provides access to web-based farm management tools.
There were various different teams within Milk Supply and there were several different event calendars written up generally on Excel spreadsheets. These calendars set out corporate event dates for planning and administrative purposes.
The management wanted to totally revamp the 'Events Calendar' and drew up a list of "wants" including multi-user access, restricted access based on user profiles (i.e. read-only, or read-write etc.), standardised reporting and the inclusion of tasks associated with each event.
A custom-designed application was developed by Nous Consulting on a Microsoft Access platform with multi-user functionality and password co-ordinated access rights. Each event had tasks and the inclusion of functionality for users to import their tasks to their own Outlook Scheduler significantly improved the tracking and monitoring process.
